In this week's edition of the 106.3 WORD cover story, we take a look at college football in the Upstate. The tailgating, the traditions, the economic impact. I sat down with a die-hard South Carolina fan, Stuart Kay, to find out what makes tailgating so special in Columbia and to learn about some of the Gamecock traditions that might not be known outside of the fanbase.

Ed Jenson caught up with the Director of Athletic Ticket Sales at Furman, Dwight Covington, to find out what is new for Paladin tailgaiting this fall.

We would be remiss if we didn't discuss the defending national champion, Clemson Tigers; so I spoke with Perry Leuck (Luke), the Tourism Coordinator at the Clemson Chamber of Commerce, about the economic impact the season has on the community.
