In this week’s edition of the 106.3 WORD Cover Story, we are taking a look at technology in the classroom.

Schools are placing assignments in the cloud, students are collaborating through computers on projects, school districts are issuing Chromebooks to each student. Classrooms are really a technological free for all.

Seth Stokes caught up with Bill Brown, the Executive Director of Education Technology Services in Greenville County. They spoke about going one to one, repairs, how technology is changing the way students learn, and more.

Patrick Gentry talked to the superintendent of a school district where students will no longer miss school days due to bad weather. Kyle Newton with Anderson District 5 says the new program is getting a lot of attention.

He also spoke with the Executive Director of the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee, Melanie Barton about why Anderson District 5 was selected to be the first in the state to use eLearning on days when schools are closed.
