In this week’s Cover Story, as you might guess… Hurricane Florence is dominating the headlines and I did some research into what our state and local authorities have to say about their plans for the upcoming storm. I also talked to the director of emergency planning for the largest health care provider in the area about how incoming evacuees to this area of the Palmetto State might impact care.

Listen below to 106.3 WORD Cover Stories.

I tried to capture the essence and urgency of Governor McMaster’s mandatory evacuation. President Trump has issued a stern warning to anyone who hasn’t vacated the coastal regions.

I also talked to one division of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office who is always on stand by for possible weather related emergencies and Lieutenant Ryan Flood with the GCSO says they're always ready for whatever come may.

I spoke with Greenville Health System’s chief of preparedness and emergency management Dr. Eric Ossman about how Greenville County largest health care provider prepares for a storm the magnitude of Hurricane Florence.
