An electromagnetic pulse weapon detonated over North America’s atmosphere could strike everything within its line of vision, overheating vital transformers and ultimately taking out that region’s electric grid, leaving the population vulnerable to cyber and physical attacks and threatening the very lives of large portions the population.

We take a look at what an EMP is, the damage it could do, and what South Carolina may be doing to prepare for an attack of that magnitude.

Patrick Gentry had the chance to speak with Anthony Fury, the author of Pulse Attack - The Real Story Of The Weapon That Can Destroy North America, regarding many facets of an EMP.

I had the chance to speak with the Greenville County Emergency Management Division Planning Coordinator, Jessica Strumpf, to find out what our local government is doing to guard against this.
