5 arrested in downtown armed robbery, attempted armed robbery

Five teen have been arrested and charged in connection with a downtown armed robbery and attempted armed robbery that happened last week.

Greenville Police arrested Daquavious Sweeney, 19, Tariq Sullivan, 18, Trequan Young, 18, Brian Massey, 16, and a 15-year-old who was not named because he's a minor.

According to warrants, the five suspects approached a female walking along the pedestrian bridge behind the Peace Center. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim turn over her money and cellphone. The group also approached a male and female sitting together in Falls Park. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded the victims hand over money and their cellphones. The victims handed over their phones and about $21 in cash as well as a debit card.

The suspects face charges of armed robbery, conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
