Five students were injured Thursday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a school bus.

The Highway Patrol said crash was reported just after noon in the 700 block of Belton Highway in Williamston.

School officials said the bus had transported 30 students from Wren High School to the Anderson One and Two Career and Technology Center.

Officials said a vehicle rear-ended a school bus in front of the center.

Five students on the bus, the bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle were injured.

One student was taken to the hospital by ambulance and four others were picked up by parents, officials said.

The school district is waiting to hear about the status of the injuries, but none are believed to be too serious. The investigation into the crash is on-going.
