Sheriff's deputies in South Carolina say they've arrested a man who attacked another deputy, knocking him down and taking his gun.

Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride told news outlets that officers were trying to serve an arrest warrant near Belton on Wednesday when another man attacked one of the officers.

McBride says the suspect was found with the gun about a mile away under a house. The suspect also had a pending warrant against him for a probation violation.

Twenty-six-year-old Dillon Six of Belton is charged of resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, illegally taking a gun from an officer and the probation violation.

He's in the county jail. There was no record of an attorney for him.

The deputy who was attacked was checked by paramedics.
