The ZF plant in the Upstate has just gotten a big order.

It’s only been about three months since ZF transmissions announced the largest order in their company’s history in a deal with BMW, a deal worth billions of dollars.

Well, ZF is having a banner year, because the company just confirmed that their second largest order in history has just gone through, this time a deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

ZF will deliver 8-speed-transmissions for rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles with front longitudinal drive configurations for Fiat Chrysler.

Production will begin in ZF’s plant in Germany, starting in 2022, but the company spokesperson has confirmed that the transmissions will eventually be built entirely in Grey Court, which is also the company only plant in the United States.
