The largest exporter of automobiles in the U.S. is not an American based company.  It’s BMW, based in Munich, Germany.

BMW Manufacturing says it exported over 272,000 X-model vehicles from the Spartanburg plant during 2017.  Almost 87% of these Sports Activity Vehicles and Coupes were exported through the inland port of Greer and then the Port of Charleston.

Total value is $8.76 billion.

BMW’s Upstate plant produces 1,400 vehicles each day including the X3, X4, X5 and X6.  An all-new BMW X7 will debut later this year.
