The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man yesterday on charges of Kidnapping, First Degree Burglary and Criminal Domestic Violence – 2nd Degree

24 year old Austin Blaine Myers of Dr. John’s Road was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:42pm Thursday.

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division met with the victim concerning an incident that occurred at an address on Hall Street in Fair Play.  The deputy met with the victim at a separate address, also in Fair Play.

As the investigation began, the victim told the deputy she met Myers, who had made threats towards the victim to have her arrested and to have her vehicle repossessed and was being verbally aggressive, according to the victim.  The victim met with Myers, who got into a vehicle with the victim, which was driven back to the victim’s residence.

The victim and the children got out of the vehicle and went back into the residence and locked the doors.  Myers, who told the victim that he would stay with the vehicle, made entry into the house.

While inside the house, Myers pushed the victim into a room of the house, would not allow her to leave and assaulted the victim.  Myers eventually left the house and the victim was able to leave with the residence with her children.

Based upon evidence gathered as a result of the investigation, deputies had probable cause to obtain arrest warrants against Myers.

At this time, Myers remains in custody at the Detention Center.  Myers was denied bond on the Kidnapping charge and was given a combined $45,000 surety bond on the other two charges.
