Campus safety has become an increasingly major factor that both parents and students are considering when decided what school to attend.

The recent murder of University of South Carolina student Samantha Josephson furthered those worries, especially amongst young women attending college.

That’s why a recent study by the resource organization Your Local Security was conducted, as a way to highlight which schools are the most safe.

Good news for Clemson students. The Tigers’ campus was listed as among the safest in the country, the only school in South Carolina to make the list.

The study was conducted using the US Department of Education’s Campus Safety and Security analysis, as well as the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report. The primary factors the study looked at were instances of hate crimes, violence against women, violent crime in general, and street harassment.
