Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, we can officially announce the start of the Christmas season.

Which means pretty soon, it’s time to go pick out a Christmas tree.

Here are some of the best local spots:


Mystic Tree Farm


9029 Old White Horse Road, Greenville, SC

Hours: 10am – 7pm Monday-Sunday (best to call to confirm

Trees, Wreaths, garlands available to purchase

Pick out your own tree and have them cut it down for you, or select a pre-cut tree. Varieties include: Blue Ice, Virginia Pine, Carolina Sapphire, Eastern Red Cedar, Fraser Fir, White Pine, and Leyland Cypress


Granddaddy’s Christmas Trees


1234 E Butler Road, Greenville, SC

Tom Sawyer Tree Farm and Christmas Village


Chimney Pond Road, Glenville, NC

Open: Nov 17 – December 8

Hours: Monday-Friday 1-4pm. Saturday 12-5pm

Pick out your own tree and they’ll cut it down for you, or grab a pre-cut Fraser Fir.

Also offer tour of the trees, and elf village, and horse and carriage rides on weekends for $5 per person. Elf village is $15 per child, free for adults, open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.


May-Lan Tree Plantation


Cooley Bridge Road, Pelzer, SC

Open: Nov 22 – when they run out of trees. Call ahead to check their availability

Events change daily, but offerings include hayrides, a pumpkin patch, and farm animals
