Happy Earth Day!

Entercom Greenville, the parent company to 106.3 WORD Radio, partnered with Friends of the Reedy River today to help clean up our Upstate waterways for their 2019 1Thing initiative.

1Thing is Entercom’s sustainability initiative where we believe if everyone would do one thing to improve their impact on the environment every day, our world would be a better place to live in for generations to come. As Entercom employees, we encourage our staff to do their part in helping keep our planet alive and healthy including reducing water use, recycling, maintaining an environmentally-friendly temperature at home, using “green” office supplies, and reducing the use of paper products.

A big shout to Greenworks Tools for coming on board as this year’s sponsor and bringing out a group of rockstar volunteers. Also, shoutout to KW Beverages for bringing their team too!

In an hour’s time, the staff from Entercom Greenville collected over 100 pounds of trash!

The Reedy, Greenville’s hometown river, has been an important natural resource for hundreds of years, utilized and valued by people who have admired its scenic beauty and relied on its water for power, sustenance, and inspiration.

*Entercom Greenville is made up of radio stations, 106.3 WORD, B 93.7, Magic 98.9, Classic Rock 101.1, 93.3 The Planet, 96.3/104.5/107.7 The Block and ESPN Upstate. All stations can also be heard on the RADIO.COM app, on your Alexa and Google Home.
