South Carolina Police say a deputy is accused of repeatedly abusing his wife, who he allegedly body-slammed onto the ground when she was pregnant.

News outlets report Donald Douglass Ross Jr. was arrested and charged with domestic violence Friday, the same day he resigned from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's office.

Arrest warrants say Ross is accused of punching his wife in October, shoving her into a wall in 2017 and body-slamming her in 2011.

Fox Carolina reported in 2010 that Ross was accused of refusing to let a woman leave during an argument, punching her and pouring water into her nose and mouth. Ross was a Greenville police officer. He resigned a week after being charged. Court records show he wasn't convicted.
