A Greenville County Deputy is now in hot water after he discarded evidence in a drug case.

According to court records, the Deputy Wesley Arflin is now on paid administrative leave.

This comes after Arflin was the arresting officer in the drug-trafficking case of a Greenville man who was soon to go on trial. Arflin was caught on video removing and discarding evidence that would’ve been favorable to the defendant.

It’s unclear what exactly that evidence was, although the drug trafficking case was ultimately dropped.

But Greenville County Sheriff Johnny Mack Brown said the whole situation was a result of Arflin mishandling the case, and that he first needed to look at what the evidence is before proceeding with any further disciplinary action.
