The Spartanburg Police Department is investigating after an elementary school principal found drugs in the student drop-off/pick-up line this morning.

The narcotics unit responded to the call after three baggies containing white powdery substances were found in front of Mary H. Wright Elementary School on South Church St. in Spartanburg.

After testing, police determined that the bags contained nine grams of crack, five grams of cocaine, and three grams of heroin.

Police say there are no cameras pointing at the location where the drugs were found, but a teacher stands there during drop-off times so they believe the drugs may have fallen out of a vehicle once class started.
