Duke’s Mayonnaise brand has been owned by the Southern food giant CF Sauer Company since 1929 – but no longer.

Reports have just emerged that the Carolina food mainstay has been acquired by a Charlotte-based private equity firm. Most people in the area need no introduction to Duke’s.

The brand’s mayonnaise has been beloved by everyday sandwich eaters, to more upscale culinary experts like Chef Sean Brock of Husk and McGrady’s in Charleston.

The buyer of Duke’s, Falfurrias Capital Partners, has stressed that no employees would feel any effects of the deal, and that no recipes will change at all.

So don’t worry, your mayo won’t be affected.
