Greenville Police are warning merchants that there have been at least four cases of counterfeit money being passed in the Central Business District over the last week.

The counterfeit $100 bills look very similar to legal tender but include the words “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” on the front of the bill and “FOR CINEMATIC USE ONLY” on the back of the bill. Also, the words “COPY” are clearly visible on both sides of the fake bill.

Business owners are encouraged to educate employees to be on the lookout for fake bills.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 23-CRIME
