The father who shot his adult daughter after claiming he mistook her for an intruder, now faces drug charges.

The Greenville County Sherriff's Office says 23-year-old Nadeja Pressley was killed trying to enter her own home early Sunday morning.

At about 1:00 AM Sunday, deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence, located on Young Street, in reference to the gunshot victim.

After a preliminary investigation, police say Pressley's father fired through a door at what he believed was an intruder, but was actually his adult daughter.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Greenville County EMS also responded and Pressley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested the 43 year-old father, Jermaine Tramone Pressley, this morning for one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine after investigators found drugs in his residence.

Authorities were inside the residence on Young Street, conducting their investigation, when the drugs were found.

Jermaine, who investigators learned is the father of Nadeja, has not been charged in her death as the investigation is still ongoing.

The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is planned for Monday.
