A massive fire has overtaken Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral. The roof has collapsed from the damage as fire crews continue to fight back flames.

As of now, the city’s emergency response units are urging people to stay back from the area. No confirmed deaths have been reported, nor injuries, although damage to the building itself is extensive.

The cathedral is one of the oldest landmarks in the Catholic church, having been built back in the 12th century.

President Emmanuel Macron is reportedly on his way to the scene of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. The cathedral had been undergoing renovations when the fire started. Still no word on whether that renovation is related in anyway, or if foul play is suspected, including the possibility of terrorism.
