The Greenville City Fire Department has received Internationally Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, just one of only 250 agencies to achieve that status.  It’s also one of just 65 agencies worldwide to hold a Class 1 ISO rating along with this new accreditation.  Class 1 ISO is the highest public protection classification that can be earned.

Greenville Fire Chief Steve Kovalcik and members of the command staff were in Dallas, TX, this week for the Fire-Rescue International conference where they received their new status.  According to Kovalcik, GCFD has spent the past five years working through the rigorous process to reach this goal.
