Earlier this week South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham unveiled his plan to deal with the ongoing influx of migrants into our southern border.

The Republican lawmaker says changes need to be made, and the Democrats need to start taking this issue seriously.

“To my Democratic colleagues, your credibility on this issue is pretty low right now,” Graham said. “You need to understand that you were wrong.”

The proposed legislation would call for those wanting to seek asylum to file their claim at an American consulate in their home country. It would also increase the amount of time that a minor can be held from twenty days to one hundred, in an effort to process the entire family together.

The White House also unveiled its own plan for broader reforms focused on bringing in high skilled migrants on a merit-based system.
