Greenville Board Opportunities

5+ openings for volunteers

May 05, 2019 - 4:00 am

The City of Greenville has some positions getting ready to open on local boards.  These are volunteer positions.

Greenville’s City Council fills appointments on 13 various boards and commissions.  In addition, the Mayor and City Council also appoint a limited number of members to six boards which do not directly advise City Council, but act as policy-making boards and oversee the operations of their respective independent agencies.

In the coming months, there are a number of expiring terms that need to be filled.  If you are interested in helping city government and volunteering for a board, you’ll need to complete an online application. (You must be a resident of the City of Greenville.)

City Council reviews applications six to eight weeks prior to a term’s expiration date and as unexpected vacancies occur during the year.

Right now, the following positions are available:

  • Design Review Board – Neighborhood
  • Design Review Board – Urban
  • Springwood Cemetery Advisory Committee
  • Greenville Housing Authority
  • Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee

The complete list of openings also lists the term dates.
