Wednesday the Greenville County Sheriff's Office released a Critical Incident Community Briefing on their YouTube page in regards to a K-9 handler placed on administrative leave for an incident back in April.

On April 28, 2019, at around 2:40pm, deputies, assisted by a K-9 Officer, responded to 19 Columbia Avenue, Lot #5 for the purpose of locating 47 year-old, Kevin Leroy Scott White, who was wanted out of the state of Florida.

As deputies arrived, they observed White drive up on a moped in the yard. Upon seeing the deputies, White got off the moped and ran into a nearby wood-line. The deputies and K-9 began tracking him and eventually located White hiding inside of a dishwasher unit, underneath a porch at a nearby mobile home park. As a result, White was dog bitten by the Sheriff’s Office K-9.

White was transported to the hospital for medical treatment and later admitted. Within a day, White was released from the hospital and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center for Failure to Stop for a Blue Light, Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, PWID Meth and Resisting Arrest.
