With the assistance of Home Depot Investigations and Lowe’s Loss Prevention, the Greenville Police Department (GPD) announces today the dismantling of a theft ring targeting home improvement stores across our area and South Carolina. During the investigation, it was determined that approximately $76-thousand worth of merchandise was stolen via shoplifting thefts occurring between October 19, 2018 and January 1, 2019 from multiple locations across the Upstate.

The items stolen from Home Depot are valued at approximately $71-thousand, while similar acts against Lowe's Home Improvement stores resulted in losses exceeding $5-thousand. To date, approximately $65-thousand of the stolen merchandise has been recovered. At this time, six subjects have been arrested while four additional suspects remain wanted for their involvement in these larcenies. The ringleader of this operation was Thomas Brenore Sullivan. The theft ring incidents followed a similar pattern:

Working in groups, these suspects would shoplift merchandise from the stores and take the items to Sullivan’s house. In return, Sullivan would give these individuals money and/or drugs for the stolen merchandise. The items would routinely be taken to local flea markets and sold to unsuspecting buyers.

“We are proud of the hard-work and cooperation between the Greenville Police Department, Home Depot Investigations, and Lowe’s Loss Prevention staff to get these criminals off the streets,” said GPD Captain Howie Thompson. “Our investigators, led by Det. Payton Loyd, put in countless hours working with Home Depot and Lowe’s personnel to review camera footage, follow leads, and make undercover buys. “Ultimately this operation’s success is a result of tenacity, collaboration, and good ole’ fashion police work.”

The suspects were identified from video surveillance footage from the retail stores. The six subjects arrested for their involvement in this this theft ring are: Thomas Brenore Sullivan, 66; Frank Joseph Adragna, Jr, 49; Antonio Lee Anderson, 40; Christine Lee Bradley, 49; Jessica Lucy Smith, 38; and Marcus Carnelius Williams, 49 Four subjects remain at-large and are actively being sought for their involvement in these larcenies: Thomas Earl Greene, 46; Carlton Kerry Kelly, 50; Tony Lavonia Owens, 45; and Timothy Cornell Shelby, 54 The GPD is grateful to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office for its participation in the execution of multiple search warrants for these suspects outside of the City of Greenville.

Anyone with information regarding the four suspects still at-large are encouraged to contact Greenville County CrimeStoppers at 23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
