Greenville is getting some special guests coming for a visit later this week.  25 business leaders and one local reporter from the Greater Fort Wayne Indiana area are headed to Greenville starting Wednesday, (August 22), looking at how the city has been revitalized.  The Greater Fort Wayne Metro Chamber Alliance calls Greenville, "a shining example of postindustrial revitalization thanks to vision, sustained leadership, collaborative planning, public-private partnerships, and maximizing natural assets."

This won’t be their first trip.  They were here in 2005, too, where they learned how to wake up their downtown through public and private investment.

Like Greenville, Fort Wayne now has a minor league stadium called Parkview Field, similar to Fluor Field, more housing, restaurants and they are hoping to finish phase 1 of their riverfront development by next year.

During the visit, they’ll meet members of Greenville’s entrepreneurial community, as well as elected officials, community and business leaders, and “creatives” with the hopes of inspiring ideas that can be applied to help keep their economic momentum going strong.
