The City of Greer Fire Department is proud to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our 2018 Citizens Fire Academy. This will be our third year hosting this wonderful opportunity for our citizens. Both the students and the fire fighters truly have enjoyed the experience.

The free eight-week course will provide citizens with a better understanding of how our fire department operates and the job our firefighters perform. The academy will include both informative classroom sessions and plenty of hands-on training. Participates will get the opportunity to tour The City’s fire stations and dispatch center, meet its firefighters and 911 personnel. During the course, participants will have a chance to wear personal protective equipment, extinguish a fire and participate on a ride-along, as well as learn CPR and home fire safety tips from professional fire fighters.

Class sessions begin on Sept 27, 2018 and will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. The class sessions will be held at The City of Greer Fire Department Station 2, our training facility, located at 1985 Hood Rd. Must be 18 years old or older to apply. You do not have to be a City of Greer resident. Please visit The City of Greer website to obtain an application and for additional information. Applications are due no later than Friday, August 31, 2018. Space is limited so please apply today!
