After officers in Oconee County came together for a large-scale grid search of an area where the bones of an adult woman were found earlier last week, we can now confirm that more remains were found.

This time, they found the upper torso and the head of the woman.

The remains are reportedly in a state of advanced decomposition, but they are presumed to be associated with the remains discovered last week.

The woman, of whom the related body parts now found include a pelvic bone, a right femur, and what are being called additional skeletal remains, including of course the head and torso which were most recently found, is believed to be a woman ranging in height from five feet one inches tall, to five feet seven inches tall, and that the woman was ranging in age from 25 to 45 years old.

The woman likely died within the last year, the coroner said.

An autopsy on the head and torso will be conducted on Thursday.
