Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy, Brianna Shaver, received the J.P. Strom Award at her graduation from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Deputy Shaver graduated on March 23, 2018, from Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) Class 678.

The J.P. Strom Award is given to the student who obtains the highest overall academic average during the BLE training program, including successful completion of all performance tests. The 12-week program provides law enforcement candidates the necessary skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the duties of a Certified Law Enforcement Officer in the state of South Carolina.

“The J.P. Strom award represents the cream of the crop, the best of the best, and we are so proud of Brianna and her outstanding accomplishment. Brianna is representative of the professionalism and excellence that we desire in our deputies. She truly exemplifies the high standards we strive for each day,” said Sheriff Chad McBride.

In recognition for her achievement, Deputy Shaver was presented with the keys to a 2018 Dodge Charger as her patrol vehicle by Sheriff McBride during her graduation ceremony.
The J.P. Strom Award is named for longtime Chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
