From the Simpsonville PD:

A School Resource Officer with the Simpsonville Police Department was involved in an altercation at Hillcrest High School this morning with a juvenile student (whose identity will not be disclosed).  The juvenile student has been arrested and is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer while Resisting Arrest.  The juvenile will be transported to the Greenville County Juvenile Detention Center.

No other students or faculty were involved and school is operating as normal.

From Greenville County Schools Spokesperson, Beth Brotherton:

As a follow up to the release from Simpsonville Police this morning I can confirm that a parent asked the Hillcrest High SRO and school principal for assistance with her daughter during drop off.  The parent reported that she and her daughter, who is a student at Hillcrest, were involved in a disagreement in the front parking lot.  The student approached the school and during her conversation with the SRO and administration the student was belligerent and refused to calm down.

After repeated warnings, the student was informed she was under arrest.  She resisted the SRO and became combative.  The SRO had to use force to restrain the student.  Back-up officers responded.

he student was arrested and removed from campus.  No other students were involved.  The school day continued as normal.
