UPDATE: Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have upgraded the charge on Kaitlin Rochester to Murder due to the victims death. Kaitlin Rochester is in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center.

Investigators from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27 year-old, Kaitlin Nicole Rochester for Attempted Murder and Criminal Conspiracy, and 31 year-old, Sabrina Nicole Rochester for Criminal Conspiracy.

The arrests stem from an incident that occurred on May 23rd, which was originally being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol as a potential hit and run on New Harrison Bridge Road. Upon conversation with medical professionals, investigators with the Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation and have learned that the incident was a result of a drug-deal gone bad.

Investigators have determined that prior to the incident, Kaitlin, and Sabrina Rochester, who are married, conspired to rob the victim of marijuana. At some point Kaitlin and the victim left a residence and got in a vehicle together.

Shortly later the victim exited the vehicle, being driven by Kaitlin Rochester, and propped up on the drivers-side window, where the two were conversing. Without notice and with the intent to injure the victim, Kaitlin drove off, causing the victim to be dragged before slamming on the brakes, resulting in the victim being flung from the vehicle, and suffer a head injury.

The victim was found in the roadway, at around 11:45pm, on May 23rd and was subsequently transported to the hospital by EMS. The victim is currently on life support in critical condition. Both Kaitlin and Sabrina Rochester have been arrested and are currently in the Greenville County Detention Center, on No Bond, and $5000 bond respectively.
