From the Greenville PD:

Around 6:50 a white male and black male wearing bandanas came to an apartment door of an elderly female at Bell Roper Apartments and rang the door bell.

When she opened the door, they forced themselves in while holding a handgun and pushed her out of the way.

They made off with her medication and left her with minor injuries.

An alert to inform the public and elderly about the use of and administering of medication. If they are indeed wearing fentanyl patches, it would help if they could wear them in a discreet form or manner so that someone would not be able to tell what they are using while out in public. If they have to use the patches in a place that is visible, be vigilant in your surroundings especially when leaving somewhere. If picking up the medications at pharmacies try not to explain ”what it is” you are picking up other than your prescription so others around may not hear what you are picking up. Lastly, if the medications are being sent to you ask that the items be signed for not just left at the door or a place that a neighbor or someone walking by can see that you are receiving medications or prescriptions.

On a side note….if someone comes to your door and you do not know who they are or their business feel free to not answer the door and call 9-1-1 to check them out. Do not answer for those you do not know.
