House District Primary Election Tuesday

Winner will replace Eric Bedingfield

Voters in South Carolina House District 28 will go the polls Tuesday for the Republican primary to fill the seat of Eric Bedingfield who is stepping down to become director of government affairs at Greenville Technical College.

Four candidates will be on the ballot: Krystal Blume of Pelzer, Jonathan Smith of Fountain Inn,  Ashley Trantham of Pelzer and Bill Welch of Honea Path.

In the event no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters will advance to a runoff election on November 28.

Polls Tuesday will be open from 7am to 7pm.

No Democrats filed for the District 28 seat.
