Investigation Of Possible Carjacking

Started in Pickens county ended in Oconee

Oconee County Deputies say they are looking for a suspect in a reported carjacking that happened Sunday in Pickens County and ended with the victim being left in Oconee County.

Security at the Oconee Nuclear Station reported that they found a newer model Jeep empty with its lights on and door open on Highway 183.

Investigators found a woman a short time later who said that she was forced by a man to drive into Oconee County until the Jeep ran out of gas.

Authorities say the suspect was wearing an orange mask, a blue shirt, and black pants

Anyone with information on the carjacking or who may have been in the area between 11:00am and noon is asked to call the Oconee County Sheriff's Office at 864-638-4111.
