Questions continue to haunt the investigation over a 5th grader’s unexplained death.

An investigator working on the case of a 5th grader who died mysteriously after a fight inside her school building has broken his silence to explain why more answers have been so delayed.

Major Jason Chapman, working on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division in Colleton County, said that an autopsy conducted on the body of Raniya Wright found something, although that something has not yet been revealed.

Still, Chapman said the results required further analysis.

A secondary procedure, as Chapman called is, must be conducted before anything substantial can be disclosed to the public, he said.

As for when more information will come out, Chapman said it could be another two weeks.

He said, “We owe it to Raniya to do this right.”
