The company that cleaned and painted the Liberty Bridge  in Falls Park last summer is returning to do more work this week.  That also means the bridge will have to temporarily close again.

This is said to be the "final work" on the bridge, according to the City of Greenville.

As a result of the work, the Liberty Bridge will be closed from 5pm on Monday, May 20 to 6 am Friday, May 24.

Crews will sand, pressure wash and prime the deck before applying an epoxy resin designed to offer skid resistance and traction on the bridge. Once the final coat is applied, the deck will be allowed to cure for at least 16 hours.

The City conducts biennial inspections of the bridge and the next inspection will take place in 2020; however, due to the extensive preventative maintenance performed over the past year, maintenance needs are expected to be minimal for the next three to five years.
