The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said thousands in Anderson County will be affected by a brief power outage overnight Saturday into Sunday.

The planned outage is scheduled for maintenance at the Green Pond substation and is expected to impact roughly 3,300 customers near Highway 24 and Whitehall road, including parts of Highway 187 South.

The power outage is scheduled for thirty minutes starting at 11:59 Saturday night and will last until 12:29 Sunday morning.

Residents in the area are urged to take precautions now if you require power for special medical equipment.

The Sheriff’s Office asked residents not to call 911 to report power outages or traffic lights malfunctioning.
