Man Indicted For Bombs Found In Anderson Co.

A federal grand jury has indicted a 27-year-old Upstate man on multiple federal gun and explosives charges.

Wesley Dallas Ayers, of Anderson, is charged in a 12-count indictment with transportation of explosive materials with the intent to injure, possession and use of destructive devices during the commission of a crime of violence; use of a destructive device during the commission of a felony; and possession of a firearm that was not registered to him.

FBI agents said Ayers crafted and planted explosive devices as well as hoax devices within a 2-mile radius of the Anderson County home where he lived. In total, seven devices related to the case were found.

Ayers, who had no previous criminal record, is being held without bond
