Man Killed In I-26 Accident In Laurens Co.

Victim was from Georgia

One person was killed after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 26 in Laurens County.

Highway Patrol says two vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-26 when they collided around 2:15pm, causing one to overturn and throwing the driver from the vehicle.

The coroner identified the victim as James Spires of Hinesville, Georgia. The coroner's office said Spires died from blunt force trauma to the head and chest. He was pronounced dead on scene. 

The other driver was not hurt.

The crash happened around mile marker 59.
