Man Sprays Axe in Own Mouth

Trying to get out of a DUI

A man trying to get out of a DUI didn’t think things through all the way.

The deputy noticed the car speeding and swerving into other lanes. This was in Spartanburg County, on I-85 north around mile marker 7. So the deputy pulled the car over… and that’s when he made an interesting discovery.

The two men in the car, one driver and a passenger, had both been drinking beer. The deputy noticed a 12 pack in the car with nearly all the cans open and empty.

The driver – who, by the way, didn’t even have a valid driver’s license – assured the officer that he had only drank one beer. But as for whether the deputy could smell the beer on the man’s breath, that concern was superseded by the man’s breath smelling like what can only be described as the body odor of an overzealous teenage boy.

That’s because the driver, Efren Ramirez, had sprayed axe body spray in his mouth, in a very poorly conceived attempt to convince the officer that he was definitely sober.

Well, as it turns, surprisingly enough, Ramirez was not sober, but in fact had a blood alcohol content of .15, nearly twice the legal limit.

He now faces charges of driving without a license, no proof of insurance, open container violation and driving under the influence.
