A coroner in South Carolina says a man reported missing died of heat stroke last week.

Kershaw County Coroner David West said in a news release the victim was 77-year-old George James Clark, who lived alone at his home near Camden.

Sheriff's deputies found the body Saturday afternoon after family members had been unable to reach him.

West said Clark had gone to Sumter on July 10 and bought a four-wheeler. The coroner says Clark had been cutting trails behind his home and apparently went into the woods and sat down before he collapsed and died.
