CBD oil – or more formally known cannabidiol – is an extract of cannabis that proponents say can be used to treat a variety of ailments, from epilepsy to  arthritis to chronic pain disorders, just to name a few.

Unlike traditional marijuana, however, CBD contains no THC, which is the chemical that elicits the drug’s high.

As such, it has approval to be sold commercially, often in the form of oils, lotions, candy, and bath products, despite the continuing criminalization of marijuana.

Just since this past autumn, five stores selling CBD products have opened. They include:

Greenville CBD Company, an online retailer

Your CBD Store, on Woodruff Road

Purely CBD of Greenville, on West North Street

Grassroots Remedy, also on Woodruff

CBD Greenville, on White Horse Road.

The expansion of CBD sales comes after President Trump signed the Farm Bill last December making it legal for hemp to be cultivated on a widespread scale.
