Hot Spot Armed Robbery

Information provided by the City of Greer:

This morning officers with the Greer Police Department were dispatched to Hot Spot (103 Hammett Bridge Road) at 12:26 am to an armed robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival officers learned that a subject who was looking at items in the store came up to the clerk and pointed a gun at her saying “Give me your money”.

The clerk complied and gave the subject an undisclosed amount of money as well as a box of cigars.

The subject then left the location on foot. The clerk was able to provide a detailed description of the subject.

Officers with our agency immediately began to canvass the surrounding area and were able to locate a subject matching the description of the armed robbery suspect.

After further investigation the subject was found to be in possession of a BB gun, cigars, and a sum of money.

The subject was a 15 year old juvenile who was taken into custody for armed robbery. The juvenile was then transported to the Department of Juvenile justice where he is being held at this time.

No one was injured during this incident.
