The College of Charleston announced on Sunday that they would be closing their campus temporarily, displacing over 3000 students.

Some students went home or stayed with friends.  Over 110 students and 2 faculty went to Winthrop University in Rock Hill to wait out the storm.  Joe Valee with College of Charleston Residence Life says the students had few options with such a short turn around.

Most of the students being housed at Winthrop are out of state students or international students.

The students are being housed in the ballroom of Winthrop's student center, one side for men, one side for women.  Students have full access to the campus, including meals, the library, the student center, and the exercise center.

Valee expects to return to College of Charleston with the students early this weekend.
