News release on Piney Mountain Park shootings from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office:

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with the January 10th, double shooting that occurred at Piney Mountain Park.

This afternoon (Friday,) investigators arrested 18 year-old, Halen Brooke Mullinax for her connection to the incident.

Mullinax was charged with Armed Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy after investigators learned that she and Jalen Mayes conspired to set up occupants inside of the vehicle occupied by the the other gunshot victim, Shunquavious  Fisher.

Investigators believe that Mullinax and Mayes were planning to meet an occupant inside of that car to obtain unspecified property.

Mullinax and Mayes rode in the car together and met the other group at the park.

Once at the park, Mayes exited his car wearing a mask and approached another occupant inside of the other car (that Fisher was in) and held a gun to his head.

During the altercation, the victim whom had the gun held to his head, retrieved his own firearm and shot Mayes.

Mayes returned fire and struck one of the passengers inside of the vehicle (Fisher), resulting in his death.

Mayes was able to get back in the car with Mullinax, who drive him to North Greenville Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Fisher was driven to Azalea Place Apartments and pronounced deceased after EMS arrived on scene.

Investigators do not anticipate any other charges at this time.
