A head-on collision results in a Felony DUI arrest.

The crash happened on South Bennetts Bridge Road near Thompson Road north of Simpsonville Thursday afternoon.

Around 2:24pm, a Toyota Corolla traveling West on South Bennetts Bridge crossed the center line slamming into a Chevy van coming in the opposite direction. 

The driver of the Corolla was seat belted and not injured. 

The driver and passenger of the Chevy van WERE injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the driver of the Chevy van, 29 year old Derek Codd of Greenville was arrested and charged with Felony DUI with great bodily injury and in possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Greenville County Detention Center website, temporary bond was set Friday, May 8th.  Bond was not satisfied.

Codd is charged with Drugs/Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree.  

It's undetermined at this time if the driver of the Corolla will face any charges. 

The crash remains under investigation.
