A 40 year-old Clinton woman received a 16 year sentence after pleading guilty to all charges following a fatal DUI crash in 2018.

Last Thursday, Khelsy Chanta Rice plead guilty to two counts of felony DUI resulting in death and two counts of felony DUI with great bodily injury.

The crash happened close to midnight on Highway 76 on May 19, 2018.

Rice crossed the center line and hit a 2007 Ford Mustang with four passengers in it head on.

Two of the passengers died; the other two were taken to hospital for injuries.

Rice was sentenced to 16 years in prison on each of the charges resulting in death and 10 years in prison on each of the charges resulting in great bodily injury.

Rice’s blood toxicology report indicated high amounts of meth and some alcohol content were in her system at the time of the crash.
