Two Spartanburg school districts will begin a phased return to five-day-a-week classroom teaching later this month.

Spartanburg District 5 (Duncan, Moore, Reidville and Wellford) and District 6 (Moore, Pauline, Roebuck and Spartanburg) posted announcements on their websites quoting superintendent Randall Gary saying, "We believe wholeheartedly that face-to-face instruction is what's best for students, and we've selected a plan that gets us near that goal, in a safe and responsible manner."

K-4, 5 and first-grade students will be first to resume face-to-face learning on September 28th followed by second, third and fourth-graders beginning October 5th.

But officials say intermediate, middle and high school classes will remain on the hybrid schedule for the time being.
