A man has been charged for possession of drugs and a firearm after police tracked him down to make sure he was okay after being shot.

Greenwood police located a man who claimed he was shot last Friday.

After being shot, but before 911 was called, the man got in his car and drove away.

Police later found and identified as 33-year-old Christopher Brian Thornill.

Police discovered that he never actually received medical treatment after being shot, so he was taken to the hospital.

However, Thornill was also found to be in possession of several narcotics and an illegal firearm and has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.

These charges are unrelated to the Valentine's Day shooting, which remains an active investigation.
