Laurens Motorcyclist Shot In Arm

Two men are in custody after shooting at a motorcyclist....

Laurens County Deputies responded to a call Monday around 11:20pm, on Highway 221 near the Hot Spot Gas Station, finding that motorcyclist, had been shot in the arm. 

He and a witness were able to provide a description of the suspects and vehicle involved. 

Deputies found that vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and after investigation charged Taliaferro Cunningham and Austin William McDonald with the shooting.   

Both are being held at the Johnson Detention Center.  McDonald was identified as the shooter and is charged with attempted murder.

On October 14, 2019 at approximately 11:20 PM the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call for service on Hwy 221 South near the Hot Spot Gas Station.

Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a motorcyclist with a gunshot wound to his arm.

The victim and another witness provided a vehicle description of the subjects involved in the shooting. A Deputy located this vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop.

After a thorough investigation, the subjects were taken into custody and charged with the shooting of the motorcyclist. The driver of the vehicle, Taliaferro Cunningham, was charged with Breach of Peace of a High and
Aggravated Nature.

Austin William McDonald was identified as the person who shot the motorcyclist; therefore, he was charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

The two subjects were transported to Johnson Detention Center without incident, where they were booked on these charges.
